About
The company behind
the guardrail.
Hipper is an independent software company building a pre-flight knowledge
guardrail for AI coding agents. We're built in New Zealand, and we
ground autonomous agents in current truth — before they write a line of code.
What we do
Frontier models are brilliant but frozen at their training cutoff. They invent packages
that don't exist and write last year's syntax for this year's libraries. Hipper sits in
front of the agent as a fast, cached check that catches both — so the code that ships is
current and secure, in fewer tokens.
- Ground — is a model or API name real, current, or a typo? Checked against live vendor docs.
- Guard — every proposed npm & PyPI package is classified, and hallucinated or typosquatted ones are blocked before install.
- Inject — modern-syntax deltas and "did-you-mean" corrections land in the agent's context automatically.
How the business works
Hipper is a digital-native, software-as-a-service business. It's delivered entirely online —
an API, a CLI, and an MCP server that plug into the coding agents developers already use.
There's nothing to ship and nothing to install on our side; the product, the sign-up, and the
billing all live on the web.

The team
Brian Mangano — Founder
Brian founded Hipper after hitting the same wall again and again while building software
with AI coding agents: confident models reaching for packages that don't exist and writing
outdated APIs for fast-moving libraries. He builds Hipper from New Zealand, dogfooding the
agent-driven workflow the product is designed to protect.
Built in New Zealand
Hipper is an independent, founder-run company based in New Zealand, operating globally over
the web. Our policies and agreements are governed by New Zealand law — see the
Legal pages for the detail.
